Egmont - We Bring Stories to Life

Winnie-the-Pooh

Winnie-the-Pooh was inspired by a teddy bear that belonged to A. A. Milne’s son, Christopher Robin, and who was named after Winnie, a bear in London Zoo, and Pooh, a swan that Christopher Robin had befriended.

Winnie-the-Pooh lives in the Hundred Acre Wood with a collection of beloved friends that includes a gloomy donkey, an owl, a kangaroo and her joey, and an irrepressible Tigger. Pooh’s life’s pleasures are simple, from enjoying a pot of honey to composing a thoughtful hum and taking a long walk with his best friend, Piglet. His love of honey occasionally lands Pooh in trouble, as he finds himself floating high on a balloon into a tree to seek out honey bees, or becoming stuck in Rabbit’s hole after eating too much.

To his friends, Pooh is the bold explorer who discovered the North Pole; he is responsible for finding Eeyore’s lost tail and for rescuing small creatures set adrift in floodwater – but to Christopher Robin, he is simply the Best Bear in All the World.
